USHJA Announces New Awards Program
March 2007

The United States Hunter Jumper Association is proud to announce the inaugural year of the USHJA Foundation Awards.  The Foundation Awards are awarded to the owners of horses competing at B and C USEF rated competitions.  The goal of this award program is to recognize the accomplishments of equestrians competing at this level while promoting the B and C competitions. There are a total of 26 award categories offered.

As a manager of B and C shows we would like to bring this program to your attention.  Your shows have been automatically enrolled in this program at no charge to you or your exhibitors.  Attached you will find a copy of the award specifications and samples of ads that can be run in your prize list if you have extra space.  The ads may also be posted at your show or displayed on your website.

This program will help recognize the accomplishments of your exhibitors and provide awards to an underserved constituency.  Please feel free to contact Jill Insko, Awards and Task Force Coordinator with any questions or comments at jinsko@ushja.org, or (859) 225-2054.

Starting in 2008, points will be earned from September 16th through September 15th, of the current competition year. Points can only be obtained in states within the owner’s home zone, which is determined by the owner’s USEF point state. Points will not be awarded for competing in contiguous states outside of the owner’s home zone. Points may be contested up to October 10th of each competition year; thereafter, points will not be changed.

Awards:
Awards will be given to the top eight (8) in each division in each Zone. The champion of each division, in each Zone, will be invited to the USHJA Annual Meeting to receive his/her award.
