| Syracuse PHA Meeting December 11, 2006 There was a Syracuse PHA meeting on Monday, December 11, 2006. Present at the meeting was Gail Miller, Naomi Blumenthal, Mark Frohm, Anne Pedersen, Connie Chave, Kim Montrois, PJ Tyman, Stacy Calale, Mike McGowan, Shelly Shaulinski , Becky Bates, Jamie Bates. Secretary's Report: A motion was made to accept the Secretary’s report dated September 18. The motion was made by Mark Frohm; seconded by Anne Pedersen and carried. Treasurer's Report: A copy is on file with the secretary. A motion was made by Mike McGowan to accept the report. All are in favor. Show Date Report: There is an application for a new show in State College “Stone Fence I” June 9-10 (A). There are applications for new shows in Batavia May 25-27 (A) and June 22-24 (A). To be held at Batavia Downs. A motion was made by Gail to approve all 3 dates. Becky seconded. All are in favor. Connie made a motion to accept August 24-26 horse show at Heritage Farm (pending USEF approval); seconded by Anne Pedersen. All are in favor Rules Report: There was a discussion at the Lehman horse show in November regarding the pre-adult/pre-children’s divisions. There was a change to the rule that was voted on in September. The rule will allow the horse to show in a rated division with another rider. There will no longer be rule changes outside of the meetings. All are in favor. High Point Report: Connie Chave made a motion to combine the 1st and 2nd year green hunters for the year end awards. Kim Montrois seconded. All are in favor. For the 2007 year, the green and regular horses can be shown in the same division (with different heights) Please check the new levels in the jumper divisions. The height requirements have been changed. Election Report: Becky Bates, Naomi Blumenthal, Sue Lowe, and Gail Miller were re-elected for 2007. Scholarship Report: A thank you from Kaitlin Legg was read. Grievance Report: Nothing to report. PHA Show: Naomi talked to the footing people at the fairgrounds. She has a meeting with them before the horse show. Hopefully something will be changed before our show. We have discussed limiting the number of tack shops allowed to attend the spring PHA show. This discussion is tabled until the March meeting. Old Business: The August in Rochester show donated over $1200 to the scholarship fund. We need more involvement for this show in August! New Business: Horse id numbers are not free this year. There is a fee if the form is filled out at the shows. It is free if it is done before the show on-line. The next meeting will be Monday March 19, 2007 at 1:00 at the Hampton Inn in Victor. |
